The Golf Courses
Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links
There are golf courses, and then there is the Old Head of Kinsale.
Set entirely on a dramatic headland jutting two miles into the Atlantic Ocean, with ocean views on three sides and the Wild Atlantic Way stretching in every direction, Old Head is consistently ranked among the most spectacular golf experiences on earth. The course is challenging, the scenery is breathtaking, and the experience of standing on the first tee with nothing but the Atlantic ahead of you is unlike anything else in the game.
Green fees range from €160 to €230 per round. Every golfer should play it at least once — and most who do immediately start planning a return visit.
Kinsale Golf Club
Kinsale Golf Club at Farrangalway is the natural home course for guests staying in Kinsale — a championship course with two nine-hole loops set in beautiful Cork countryside with lovely views throughout.
Green fees range from approximately €25 to €40 per round, making it outstanding value for a course of this quality. It’s a genuinely enjoyable, well-maintained course and a relaxed, welcoming club — ideal for a group that wants a great round without the formality or expense of the Old Head.
Cork Golf Club
Cork Golf Club on Little Island, approximately 30 minutes from Kinsale, is one of Ireland’s most respected parkland courses — designed by legendary course architect Alister MacKenzie and host to the Irish Open. A course with serious history and a layout that rewards intelligent play over brute force.
Fota Island Golf Club
Fota Island, also approximately 30 minutes from Kinsale, has three championship courses including the Deerpark — host to the Irish Open Amateur Championships and the Irish PGA Championship. A full-day golf destination in its own right, with outstanding facilities and courses to suit all standards.
FootGolf Cork
For something completely different — and brilliantly fun for a mixed-ability group — FootGolf Cork near Kinsale is the first and only purpose-built FootGolf course in the south of Ireland. Blending the skills of football with the format of golf, it’s an outstanding group activity that everyone enjoys regardless of golf ability.
With a bar, restaurant and additional activities including tag archery and Nerf Wars on site, FootGolf Cork works equally well as a standalone group day out or as a light-hearted alternative on a rest day between more serious rounds.

Why choose Kinsale for your golf holiday?
Kinsale is not just a golf destination, it’s one of the finest places in Ireland to spend a week. And for a golf group, that matters.
The courses are outstanding. The food and drink scene is exceptional; Kinsale has held the title of Ireland’s gourmet capital for decades and the restaurants and pubs here are among the finest in the country.
The scenery is extraordinary: set at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way with the Atlantic Ocean, the Bandon River and the Cork countryside all on the doorstep.
And unlike a golf resort, staying in a private luxury self-catering holiday home means your group has complete freedom: your own kitchen, your own living space, your own schedule. No restaurant opening times, no bar closing times, no other guests. Just your group and one of the most beautiful corners of Ireland.

Cork Airport has direct flights from across the UK and mainland Europe, and is just 35 minutes from Kinsale, making it genuinely easy to get to for a group travelling from different locations. Dublin is around two and a half hours by road. Kinsale Travel Guide →
